CTM Design Services Ltd. is looking to add a Senior Architectural Technologist to our team. Candidate must have experience in all facets of architectural design with respect to commercial/light industrial buildings and facilities, as well as leading a project team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Acting as Project Lead:
- Meeting with Project Manager to discuss & determine project requirements
- Conducting building code analysis
- Producing preliminary architectural designs based on project scope
- Delegating architectural design work to project team members
- Producing the necessary architectural working drawings and providing design support for project team members
- Communicating and coordinating with internal discipline teams (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure proper design coordination
- Conducting thorough review of full working drawings prior to issuance
- Collecting applicable permit requirements from municipalities
- Providing design related construction support and performing site audits and construction inspections
Capabilities and Credentials
- Architectural Technologist Diploma from an accredited institution
- Minimum ten years of architectural design & drafting experience using AutoCAD and/or REVIT (BIM) - must have minimum five years of applicable experience in North America
- Minimum three years of Project Lead experience, reviewing and delegating work to project team members
- Proficient in working with AutoCAD (minimum version 2014), experience in working with REVIT (BIM) will be an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on effective collaboration and integration is required
- Proficient in working with latest versions of Building Codes (experience with ABC and NBC is a must)
- Ability to multi-task and being able to transition effectively amongst multiple projects will be an asset
- Team player, detail orientated, with an aptitude to learn and the ability to work under pressure
