CTM Design Services Ltd. is looking to add an Electrical Technologist with 5-10 years’ experience in all facets of electrical design with respect to commercial buildings, facility consultation and light industrial applications in North America to add to our team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare plans utilizing the Canadian Electrical Code, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario Building codes and various Safety Regulations
- Design electrical systems such as power distribution, single line drawings, feeder sizing, lighting (indoor and outdoor) and communication
- Design peripheral systems such as security, life safety (fire alarm and public address), voice/data communications, security/CCTV systems and IT
- Coordinate projects with different disciplines such as structural, mechanical and civil engineers as well as architects
- Attend meeting with clients to coordinate the design process.
- Perform site inspections to evaluate the progress of construction of the projects following appropriate safety measurements
Capabilities and Credentials
- University degree or college diploma for Electrical Engineering Technology
- Minimum five years’ work experience as an Electrical Technologist is required
- Proficient use of AutoCAD and Revit is required
- Knowledge of design and layout control systems required
- Knowledge of electrical distribution, lighting layouts and fire alarm systems required
- Hands on site experience
- Project management experience
- Membership in ASET is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
